Coverage Limit
The maximum coverage of an insured deposit is the amount paid by the BDSF to a depositor in case of insolvency of a member bank. To determine the maximum coverage, deposits and depositors in insured banks are classified into categories and then compared to the BDSF resources to determine the percentage of deposits that the resources can cover and the BDSF’s commitments towards the depositors. This is done through internationally recognized scientific and statistical methods.
